7 Signs that Your Career is Not Aligned with Your Soul's Purpose and What to Do About It

It can be disheartening if you find yourself in a career that doesn't quite fit. Here are seven signs that your career may not be aligned with your soul's purpose:

TIP #1: You're always exhausted: If you're constantly running on empty, it's a sign that your career is zapping your energy instead of fueling you.

TIP #2: You're not challenged: If you're bored at work, it's a message that your career isn't providing the stimulation you need.

TIP #3: You don't feel like you're making a difference: If you're just going through the motions and not feeling like your work is making an impact, it's a sign that your career isn't what your soul wants.

TIP #4: You're not growing: If you feel stuck in a rut, it's a sign that your career isn't providing growth opportunities.

TIP #5: You stopped dreaming. I mean this in the literal and figurative sense. Dreams are a window to our soul. People often stop dreaming because the joy in their life has gone.

TIP #6: You're not happy: If you find no joy in your current work situation, but once you leave work, there is a significant elevation in your mood, it's a sign that your career is not aligned with your soul's purpose.

TIP #7: Your creativity has plummeted. We are creative beings. When creativity goes away, that is a sign that we are not in alignment with our souls. I am not saying you must have a traditional creative job. (e.g., artist, writer), but I am saying there needs to be something within your career where you tap into your creative nature.

If you're experiencing any of these signs, it's time to make a change. And that change starts with sitting down, being still, and reflecting. It's not easy, but it's worth pursuing a career that feels right for you. Your soul will thank you for it.

I was an employed psychiatrist for years. But I realized one day that although I loved what I did, my true calling lay elsewhere - fostering wellness and empowerment within our community. Something inside me told me this would be the best way to go, so now instead of just being a doctor prescribing medication, I am also providing people with tools they can use daily to flourish. This shift might seem hard at first - especially when you've spent so many years training or working in your career - but if anything, it will teach you how much more capable of change you are than you may think right now! But if I can do it, you can too.

It's essential to listen to your soul and follow its guidance. Trust that the Universe will provide the opportunities you need to create the career of your dreams.
